Oral Cancer Screenings
Mouth and throat cancers are increasingly treatable, especially if caught early. Dr. Klingensmith performs a complete visual inspection of the mouth to detect any signs of cancerous or pre-cancerous conditions. The sooner treatment happens, the better the outcomes.
Digital X-Rays
Telling patients that she doesn’t share Superman’s x-ray vision, Dr. Klingensmith relies on state-of-the-art digital x-rays to view dental structures. This is a very low dose of radiation and effectively gives her a precise picture to avoid any hidden surprises within the teeth, gums and jaws. The earlier she can diagnose issues, the higher the standard of care.
Cavities & Fillings
With a goal of keeping your teeth healthy for the longest possible time, she drills and fills areas of decay. The staff educates patients how to avoid future cavities and also provides fluoride and sealants as other control measures.
Dental Bridge
A missing tooth negatively impacts all other teeth and dentition, which shift in its absence. Dr. Klingensmith calls back teeth the workhorses of the mouth and explains the front teeth are there to create a pleasing smile. When you let a missing tooth in the back go unreplaced, that puts undo stress on the front teeth, which can create cracks and chips. A bridge is a cemented restoration that looks like replacement teeth in the middle with crowns on the end to cement to teeth.
Crowns
Dr. Klingensmith is a stickler for perfection, so she only works with a lab in the U.S. to fabricate a replacement tooth. Crown treatment is a two-appointment procedure. Patients leave after the first appointment with a temporary crown in place and then the final crown is cemented at the second appointment.
